Job summary

Covenant Logistics is seeking an entry-level Fleet Manager to link operations between drivers and customers. You will coach experienced drivers, maximize asset utilization, and coordinate with customers on fleet activity to meet company goals.

The role involves managing a dedicated fleet, tracking loads, and supporting payroll and driver inquiries. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Able to communicate effectively in writing, verbally, and electronically.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and Driver HOS.
• Able to thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Able to manage people effectively.
• Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Manage dedicated fleet of professional drivers.
• Assist in managing messaging for overall operations.
• Handle service failures across driver, dispatch, planning, safety, and maintenance.
• Track and trace trucks; monitor ETAs/PTAs and loads.
• Maintain driver communications to ensure on-time performance and reduce turnover.
• Coordinate with customers on load assignments and status.
• Develop relationships with drivers and understand performance needs.
• Set performance expectations and provide ongoing feedback to drivers.
• Coordinate with internal departments to resolve issues.
