Job summary

QPS Employment Group seeks a Director of Fleet Operations in Earth City, MO. The role directs the Delivery Department, staffing, coaching, and safety programs to ensure safe, efficient, and timely service.

You will oversee fleet assets, maintenance, route planning, and performance metrics, coordinating with Sales, HR, and leadership to meet service goals and regulatory requirements on a local scale.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in transportation, logistics, operations preferred.
• Progressively responsible experience in delivery, transportation or fleet operations with leadership of supervisors.
• Working knowledge of DOT/FMCSA compliance and fleet maintenance practices.
• Ability to analyze route and fleet data and manage multiple vendors and projects.
• Proficiency with routing, compliance, spreadsheet and business communication systems.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate the work of the Delivery Department and Supervisors to ensure safe, efficient, accurate, and timely operations.
• Lead workforce planning for delivery operations, including staffing, onboarding, training, scheduling, and retention.
• Train, coach, and evaluate Supervisors and drivers for safe operation of vehicles and equipment.
• Oversee daily route planning, route revisions, account assignments, and routing-system data to improve service and market coverage.
• Monitor delivery performance measures and investigate exceptions to implement corrective action.
• Coordinate with Sales, Warehouse, HR, Accounting, and leadership on staffing and equipment needs.
• Respond to customer concerns, determine root causes, and coordinate resolution.
