Job summary

TOTE Group in Tacoma, WA is seeking a Fleet Projects Engineer to lead capital projects across our fleet and report to the Director of Ship Management. You will apply engineering expertise and project management to improve vessel reliability, safety, and environmental performance.

Responsibilities include end-to-end project leadership, scope and cost development, bid packages, and collaboration with port engineers, shipyards, vendors, and regulators.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum of five years of marine engineering, ship repair, vessel technical management, or project management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing engineering projects, vessel modifications, maintenance programs, or capital improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead fleet-wide capital improvement projects from concept through commissioning and closeout.
  • Develop scopes, technical specifications, cost estimates, schedules and bid packages with port engineers and vessel personnel.
  • Manage project budgets and coordinate contractors, shipyards, and vendors for successful execution.
  • Prepare capital expenditure requests and project performance reports.
  • Provide technical support and guidance on complex equipment and systems.
