Job summary

Miller’s Tug and Barge is seeking an experienced Port Engineer to ensure fleet maintenance, repair, and operational readiness. You will oversee compliance with regulatory standards and manage preventive maintenance, working closely with vessel crews and external vendors to maximize efficiency.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of experience, a relevant degree, and strong problem-solving skills. This role requires flexibility in work hours and the ability to thrive in marine environments.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in vessel maintenance.
  • USCG Merchant Mariner Credential preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee preventative maintenance programs.
  • Ensure vessels comply with USCG, ABS, OSHA, and EPA requirements.
  • Develop and manage maintenance and repair budgets.
  • Provide technical guidance to vessel engineers and crew.
  • Respond to vessel-related issues 24/7.
