Job summary

TMMG, LLC seeks a Project Engineer II to lead engineering efforts for U.S. Navy ship repair, maintenance, and modernization programs.

You will interpret NAVSEA standards, develop work packages, and coordinate with government stakeholders to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient execution. Responsibilities include producing PCPs, lift plans, and calculations; reviewing RFIs/CFRs/REAs; and guiding cross-functional teams through production and testing activities while maintaining contract

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline (Mechanical, Marine, Naval Architecture, Electrical, Civil) or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years engineering experience in ship repair/building/DoD maintenance programs.
  • Experience interpreting NAVSEA contract requirements, standards, drawings, and military specs.
  • Ability to develop and review PCPs, weight and moment reports, calculations, and installation procedures.
  • Strong understanding of contract change processes (RCCs, CFRs, REAs) and Government-directed modifications.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as primary technical engineering representative for NAVSEA surface ship repair and modernization availabilities.
  • Interpret contract specs, NAVSEA standards, JFMM, and military standards to ensure compliance.
  • Develop PCPs, engineering work packages, calculations, and installation procedures.
  • Prepare Critical Lift Plans, Weight and Moment Reports, and rigging plans for safe shipboard execution.
  • Identify design conflicts and execution risks; provide cost-effective technical solutions with minimal schedule impact.
  • Coordinate engineering activities with Program Management, Production, QA, Procurement, and Government stakeholders.
  • Support RFI/LAR/TQ CFR/CC explanations and engineering change management.
  • Guide Program Managers in technical decisions affecting cost, schedule, risk, and contract compliance.
