Responsibilities

• Provide general vehicular maintenance and routine repairs.
• Diagnose problems and perform major and minor repairs on school buses, cars, trucks and equipment.
• Install replacement parts and adjust settings as needed.
• Overhaul brakes and ignition systems.
• Tune engines using standard testing equipment.
• Operate shop equipment and document labor using fleet software.
• Respond to road calls and emergencies as needed.
• Provide technical guidance to coworkers.
• May train staff and advise on vehicle purchases.
