Job summary

Park County Government is seeking a skilled mechanic for the Public Works Department to perform preventative maintenance, inspections, repairs, and fabrication. The role supports diesel, gas, hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems and requires detailed documentation and adherence to safety standards.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent, 5+ years’ experience, and a Class B CDL; a Class A CDL may be needed for higher pay ranges.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Vocational/mechanics training is preferred.
• Five years of mechanic experience.
• Class B CDL is required; Class A CDL is preferred for higher pay range.
• Background check required.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
• Inspect and repair to meet Public Works and DOT standards.
• Document time, vehicle hours, parts used and repairs.
• Provide field service in emergencies as needed.
• Diagnose and repair using diagnostic tools and test operations.
