Job summary

UPS in Hartford, CT is seeking a Mechanic Journeyman to service a diverse fleet including delivery vehicles, heavy-duty tractors, and trailers. You will troubleshoot and repair hydraulic brakes, air brakes, electrical systems, and engine controls while working 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shifts.

Candidates must have an active US driver’s license; Class A/B CDL is preferred. Willingness to provide own hand tools and flexibility to work various schedules is required.

Qualifications

• Current automotive mechanical experience
• Experience using diagnostic equipment, scan tools and PC
• Possesses full complement of personal hand tools
• Dependable with ability to report to work regularly and complete scheduled day
• Available to work varying shifts and overtime as needed

Responsibilities

• Meets D.O.T requirements required by job assignment
• Bends, stoops, squats, kneels, crouches, crawls, climbs ladders and stairs, stands, walks, and turns/pivots frequently throughout duration of workday
• Sits infrequently, as required, throughout duration of workday
• Operates standard and manual transmission
• Operates power and pneumatic tools
