Job summary

Ruppert Landscape is seeking a Mechanic to join our in-house fleet team in the Baltimore area. You will diagnose, troubleshoot, and service a diverse range of fleet vehicles and equipment, including diesel/gas trucks, mowers, trailers, and landscape tools, ensuring safety and reliability.

This on-site role emphasizes maintaining company image through timely maintenance, documenting repairs, and collaborating with shop staff. A safety-first mindset and hands-on experience are required.

Qualifications

• Safety-first mindset with adherence to safety regulations and promoting safe work practices.
• Minimum of one year of hands-on mechanical experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with gas/diesel vehicles and landscaping equipment.
• Ability to supply personal tools as needed to perform the role.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow within the organization.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; keen attention to detail.
• Experience with diesel engines and bilingual ability (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform repairs and preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment, including power equipment, mowers, trucks, trailers, and other landscape tools
• Recondition vehicles and equipment twice a year to ensure they meet company image standards and are safe, reliable, and ready for use
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment
• Accurately document and maintain service and repair records
• Provide exceptional internal customer service, prioritizing efficiency, quality, and communication
• Assist with other operational tasks as assigned
