Job summary

Ruppert Landscape seeks a Lead Technician & Engine Mechanic to join our in-house fleet team in Virginia. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain a wide range of vehicles and landscape equipment, ensuring safety, reliability, and high standards of workmanship.

Responsibilities include record-keeping, documenting service history, and prioritizing internal customer service while maintaining a clean shop. Experience with diesel and gas engines is valued, with bilingual English/Spanish preferred but

Qualifications

• A safety-first mindset with a commitment to safety regulations and safe work practices.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on mechanical experience.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with gas/diesel engines and landscaping equipment.
• Ability to supply personal tools as needed to perform the role.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow within the organization.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform repairs and preventative maintenance on a variety of fleet vehicles and equipment, including power equipment, mowers, trucks, trailers, and other landscape tools.
• Recondition vehicles and equipment twice a year to meet company image standards and ensure safety, reliability, and readiness.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe shop environment.
• Accurately document and maintain service and repair records.
• Provide exceptional internal customer service, prioritizing efficiency, quality, and communication.
• Assist with other operational tasks as assigned.
