Job summary

World Group, a family of brands including ContainerPort Group, is seeking a Fleet Manager for our Columbus, OH terminal. You will serve as the link between drivers and customers, building trust with owner-operators and supporting day-to-day operations to maximize on-time service.

Qualifications

• HS diploma required.
• 2-5 years of intermodal/container transportation experience.
• Working knowledge of DOT regulations.
• Experience working with fleet of contractors/owner operators.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Exemplary customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Strong computer skills and experience with dispatch software (TMS).

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and supervise fleet of owner-operators.
• Monitor and ensure delivery performance, fleet profitability and regulatory compliance.
• Assign equipment as needed.
• Plan and optimize load drops and pickups for efficiency.
• Coordinate loads with the Customer Success team and contractors.
• Negotiate rates with contractors outside the ICOA.
• Develop lasting relationships with contractors to improve retention.
• Resolve disputes among customers, terminals and contractors.
• Monitor contractor compliance with DOT and safety regulations.
• Coordinate required training for fleet of contractors.
