Job summary

Dollar General seeks a Fleet Manager I to oversee the on-site operation of the dedicated fleet and lead the on-site team. This role focuses on achieving KPIs including on-time deliveries, tractor utilization, and reverse logistics while managing budgets and P&L.

Strong leadership and compliance experience are essential. The position requires experience with fleet operations, driver management, and transportation software, plus solid communication and planning skills to drive efficiency and

Qualifications

Proven leadership and knowledge of the transportation industry, FMCSA CSA program, and DOT regulations.
Experience managing dedicated fleet operations and OTR drivers.
Strong communication, listening, and interpersonal skills with problem-solving mindset.
Excellent attention to detail, planning, and organization.
Proficient in transportation optimization software and MS Office.

Responsibilities

Lead fleet team and on-site operations to ensure on-time deliveries and safe driver utilization.
Partner with Sr Transportation Manager to plan for P&L, expenses, and driver growth.
Oversee driver training, payroll, home time, retention, and equipment usage.
Foster driver retention with responsive support on needs such as home time and payroll.
Provide ad-hoc reporting and scorecards for KPIs and process improvements.
