Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Customer Service Representative for its private fleet to plan, track, and report on inbound and outbound dedicated loads. You will work with the on-site fleet team to ensure on-time store deliveries, optimize tractor usage, and oversee driver safety and compliance.

The role emphasizes planning, reporting, and problem solving in a fast-paced environment, with close collaboration with drivers, vendors, and DCs to maintain efficient logistics operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business or Logistics preferred or comparable experience.
• 1–2 years in transportation operations for a retailer, manufacturing company, major carrier, or logistics company preferred.
• One to two years of onsite driver dispatch experience preferred.
• One year of Driver Dispatch Management System experience (satellite dispatch systems).
• Proficient in using transportation optimization software for routing, tendering, scheduling, and shipment tracking.

Responsibilities

• Plan outbound, vendor backhaul, and OVD loads.
• Assign rolltainer sweeps and dunnage consolidations.
• Report on time load pickup and store delivery.
• Report BOL pickup and tractor utilization.
• Handle driver load messages and plan swaps.
• Resolve load issues including bust outs and overweight paperwork.
