Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an on-site Fleet Manager I to oversee the dedicated fleet operations and lead the on-site fleet team. You will be accountable for KPIs including on-time deliveries, tractor utilization, reverse logistics, and budget management.

The role requires strategic planning, strong leadership, and compliance with CSA and DOT regulations. Travel is anticipated at least 10% to support vendor alignment, route optimization, and driver development while ensuring safety and efficiency

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business or Logistics preferred.
Transportation experience managing at least 50 drivers preferred.
Proven leadership and knowledge of the transportation industry and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

Manages dedicated operations and leads fleet team to deliver on-time freight pickup/delivery and KPI results.
Partners with Sr Transportation Manager to support P&L, expenses, and driver growth.
Accountable for driver training, payroll, time-at-home, retention, idle reduction, MPG and load optimization.
Champion driver retention through strong relationships addressing home time and equipment issues.
Provides ad-hoc reporting, scorecards, and KPI analysis for Outbound Operations.
