Job summary

Southland Industries seeks a fleet operations professional to manage day-to-day vehicle fleet activities, including inventory, licensing, driver orientation, and safety communications. The role partners with internal units and external vendors to optimize assignments and maintenance.

You will oversee lease management, insurance liaison, and adherence to policies and regulations, while implementing cost controls and replacement scheduling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent training and experience
• 5 years of relevant experience
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to multi-task between a variety of job responsibilities
• Proficient knowledge of MS Office applications
• Strong customer service skills
• Excellent procurement and negotiation skills
• Basic understanding of budgeting and accounting

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate vehicle inventory, drivers and insurance; update and audit fleet tracking system.
• Coordinate vehicle assignments with business units; onboard drivers and communicate safety and maintenance policy.
• Manage lease activities; plan vehicle assignments based on demand and availability.
• Liaise with insurers; report incidents and damages.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
• Negotiate dates and prices with vendors; manage invoices and contract adherence.
• Process and audit fleet expenses.
• Plan and execute vehicle replacement schedules; oversee repairs and maintenance.
• Conduct budget and cost analyses for replacements and compliance reporting.

Position Summary

Responsible for theday-to-day operations of thevehicle fleet program, which may include the acquisition, assignment,maintenanceand inventory of the vehicles.Establishesandmaintainsstrongpartnershipwith internal business units and externalvendors.

Position Details

• Ensures accurate record of vehicle inventory, drivers and insurance. Updates, maintains and audits fleet tracking system.
• Partners with business units to plan for and coordinate vehicle assignments. Supports the orientation of drivers and communication of safety and maintenance policy.
• Administers lease management. Plans and coordinates vehicle assignments based on demand and availability.
• Supports insurance administration, including acting as liaison between insurance companies and employees. Ensures proper reporting of incident/accident and/or damages.
• Ensures compliance to all company policies and procedures, as well as State and Federal regulations.
• Builds strong working relationships with vendors and service providers. Negotiates expedited dates and prices, manages invoice discrepancies and adherence to contracts.
• Processes, tracks, reports and audits fleet expenses.
• Plans, develops and executes vehicle replacement schedules while overseeing repairs and maintenance operations.
• Conducts research and analysis including budget, cost management, replacement schedules and compliance reporting.
