Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Fleet Technician I to maintain and repair Mobile Storage rental fleet equipment, including containers, office trailers, and modular buildings. Under supervision, you’ll complete cleaning and maintenance to company standards and support Equipment Associates as needed.

You’ll perform basic repairs, operate forklifts, and document work orders while traveling to customer sites to assist with setup and modifications. Safety and quality are paramount in every task.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Active state class driver’s license.
• Related maintenance experience a plus.
• Basic verbal and written skills.
• Construction knowledge and background.
• Teamwork and customer service skills.
• Demonstrated time management skills.
• Ability to utilize required information technology.
• Working knowledge of heavy equipment, tools, and manufacturers' warranty process.
• Accurately record time and material used for proper work order completion.
• Lift up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of Mobile Storage quality standards.
• Perform basic maintenance and repairs, including removing/repairing flooring, walls, doors, roofs, leaky components, painting, and decals.
• Hook mobile office to power source.
• Check tire pressure and lugs.
• Complete assignments on time and within budget.
• Document Work Orders and other required records.
• Travel to customer sites to set office trailers and assist CDL A Drivers when needed.
• Perform equipment modifications per manufacturer specs and codes.
• Maintain organization and cleanliness of shop, yard, tools, and supplies per guidelines.
• Operate forklift safely when required.
• Show and demonstrate fleet to customers when needed.
• Safely install and/uninstall VAPs according to reservation requirements.
