Job summary

United Rentals is seeking a Fleet Technician I to maintain and repair Mobile Storage fleet equipment, including containers and modular buildings. You will perform cleaning, maintenance, and documentation, and travel to customer sites as needed to set up trailers and assist drivers.

Responsibilities include basic repairs, equipment inspections, and 5S shop organization, with a strong emphasis on safety and timely completion of work orders. A valid driver’s license and strong teamwork are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Active state driver’s license.
• Related maintenance experience a plus.
• Basic verbal and written skills.
• Construction knowledge and background.
• Teamwork and customer service skills.
• Demonstrated time management skills.
• Ability to utilize required information technology.
• Working knowledge of heavy equipment, tools, and manufacturers’ warranty process.
• Accurately record time and material used for proper work order completion.
• Lift up to 45 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate knowledge of Mobile Storage quality standards.
• Perform basic maintenance and repairs per specifications.
• Hook mobile office to power source.
• Check tire pressure and lugs.
• Complete assignments on time and within budget.
• Document work orders and related paperwork.
• Travel to customer sites to set office trailers and assist CDL A Drivers.
• Install and uninstall VAPs per reservation requirements.
• Follow safety and 5S guidelines and keep areas organized.
