Job summary

The City of Roanoke's Fleet Division seeks a motivated worker to service and operate automotive and construction equipment, including wreckers and field service units. Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and 1–3 years related experience in operating motorized equipment.
• Requires CDL with endorsements within 6 months of employment.
• ASE certification required within 2.5 years of employment.

Responsibilities

• Operate street sweeper, dump truck, and other equipment as assigned.
• Perform maintenance tasks: oil changes, tire service, batteries, and minor repairs.
• Grease, lubricate, and service a variety of motorized equipment.
• Assist with inventory control for tools and equipment.
• Support snow removal, events, and emergency tasks as needed.
• Work with temporary crews and may train others.
