Job summary

City of Richmond is seeking a Mechanic I to perform maintenance and minor repairs on heavy and light trucks, construction equipment, and automobiles. The role requires operating a range of hand, power, and shop tools and performing related duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of practical experience. Texas CDL class C is required, with the ability to obtain Class A within a year; ASE certifications are preferred or achievable.

Qualifications

• High school graduate, GED or equivalent.
• 1 year of practical experience.
• Valid Texas CDL class C driver's license with the ability to obtain a Class A Texas CDL class within obtaining within a year.
• Technical certifications from National Institute for Automotive Services Excellence (ASE) preferred or ability to obtain basic ASE certification.
• Obtain within 6 months of employment: Texas Department of Public Safety Inspector.
