Job summary

First Student, Inc. seeks an Automotive Maintenance Technician to perform routine and some non-routine vehicle repairs in our shop and on road calls. Work is under supervision with emphasis on safety and quality, maintaining records of all work performed.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, Class B CDL with passenger endorsement, and state inspections license where required. ASE certification is preferred; at least 3 years of automotive or diesel repair experience is ideal; strong

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent; vocational/technical vehicle repair cert preferred.
• Class B CDL with passenger endorsement required or expected within 3 months.
• State inspection license if required by state.
• A S E certification preferred; participate in ASE testing within 1 year (3 ASE within 12 months).
• 3 years automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred) or equivalent education/experience.
• Valid driver's license; adheres to DOT safety standards.
• Regular, predictable attendance; able to lift 50 pounds.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills; able to work independently or in a team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain vehicles by performing limited repairs with moderate supervision.
• Repair brakes, suspensions, engines, transmissions and related systems.
• Maintain maintenance records and parts usage; process work orders accurately.
• Assist with preventative maintenance and safety inspections.
• Assist with road calls and emergency services as needed.
• Adhere to FirstGroup standards, policies and procedures.
