Job summary

San Antonio Water System is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Technician to diagnose, maintain and repair a range of light equipment, trucks and pumps. The role requires reading manuals, schematics and documenting all work performed while upholding SAWS safety standards.

A CDL-A Texas license and vehicle inspector certification are required or must be obtained within six months. The ideal candidate will have three years' experience with gas/diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, A/C, and

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Three years' experience maintaining and repairing gas/diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical and related systems.
• Valid Class CDL-A Texas Driver's License (or within 6 months of hire).
• Certified Texas Department of Public Safety Vehicle Inspector (or within 6 months).
• Ability to report to work on time and maintain good attendance.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, maintain and repair light equipment, trucks, sewer cleaning trucks, dump trucks and water pumps.
• Read technical manuals, wiring and hydraulic schematics for repairs.
• Document all maintenance and repairs.
• Comply with SAWS safety standards to ensure a safe work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
