Job summary

AEP Texas Company, Inc. is seeking a Fleet Technician to maintain and repair a range of company vehicles and heavy equipment at our San Angelo service location.

You will work on boom/pedestal assemblies, hydraulic and brake systems, and powertrains while ensuring safety and efficiency. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, 2+ years of automotive diagnostics experience with hydraulic/diesel repair, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• Must live within 30 minutes of the service location.
• Education: High school graduate or GED required.
• Experience: At least 2 years of strong automotive mechanical diagnosis with hydraulic and diesel repair experience.
• Graduation from an automotive trade school with diesel engine experience is highly desirable.
• Licenses/Certifications: Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license.
• Must obtain Class A CDL within 12 months of entry date into the Fleet Technician B classification or vacate the job classification.
• Must obtain Fluid Power Society Certification and two (2) applicable ASE certifications within 24 months of entry date or vacate the current job classification.

Responsibilities

• Service and repair boom/pedestal assemblies and hydraulic systems; inspect and replace parts as needed.
• Diagnose and repair A/C, cooling and fuel systems on fleet vehicles.
• Troubleshoot and repair winch, steering, air brake, and braking systems.
• Inspect transmissions, differentials, and powertrain components.
• Assist in diagnosing more complex problems and train others.
