Job summary

San Antonio Water System is seeking a Senior Utility Technician to perform a variety of manual and skilled labor duties for the repair, construction, and maintenance of the water distribution and wastewater collection system in the San Antonio area. Responsibilities include operating trucks and equipment, excavating trenches, transporting materials, inventorying tools, and enforcing safety procedures.

The role requires a valid Texas Class A CDL and ability to work varying shifts in multiple SAWS

Qualifications

• Valid Texas Class A Commercial Driver's License.
• Position-specific physical testing.
• Ability to report to work on time, maintain a good attendance record, and work all designated work schedules.

Responsibilities

• Performs manual labor and operates equipment for water and wastewater systems.
• Operates dump trucks and crew trucks.
• Excavates and backfills trenches for repairs.
• Transports equipment and materials to and from job sites.
• Maintains safety procedures and keeps facilities/tools organized.
• Assists with setup of work zone barricades and signs for traffic control.
