MTM Transit in Stuart, FL is looking for a Fleet Maintenance Technician B to keep our community moving. You will perform maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on transit vehicles, focusing on safety, reliability, and efficiency while supporting a busy shop environment.

You’ll work with a skilled team, receive industry training incentives, and have opportunities for ASE certification growth. The role offers competitive hourly pay and a strong benefits program in a people‑first culture.

Formación

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be 21 years or older.
• Valid Florida Class A or B CDL with passenger endorsement.
• Minimum 3 years driving history.
• No DWI/DUI charges.
• No more than 1 moving violation in the last 3 years.
• No accidents or point violations in the last 3 years.
• Minimum 3 years of automotive or truck repair experience or equivalent training.
• Ability to pass DOT physical, pre-employment drug screening, background check, and MVR review.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

Responsabilidades

• Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and inspections on transit vehicles.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and HVAC systems.
• Service automotive, light‑duty truck, and heavy‑duty transit bus powertrains.
• Diagnose and repair chassis, suspension, brake, and drivability concerns.
• Complete electronic work orders accurately and timely.
• Assist with maintaining shop equipment, vehicle lifts, pumps, and facility systems.
• Support general maintenance of the facility and grounds.
• Follow all company safety procedures and maintenance standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Are you an experienced diesel or automotive technician looking for a stable career, competitive pay, and opportunities to grow? MTM Transit is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Technician B to join our team in Stuart, Florida. Our technicians do more than repair vehicles. They play a critical role in keeping our communities connected by ensuring our fleet operates safely, efficiently, and reliably every day. Pay Range: $36.00 - $40.00 per hour, based on experience

What You'll Do As a Fleet Maintenance Technician A, you will:

• Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and inspections on transit vehicles
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and HVAC systems
• Service automotive, light‑duty truck, and heavy‑duty transit bus powertrains
• Diagnose and repair chassis, suspension, brake, and drivability concerns
• Complete electronic work orders accurately and timely
• Assist with maintaining shop equipment, vehicle lifts, pumps, and facility systems
• Support general maintenance of the facility and grounds
• Follow all company safety procedures and maintenance standards
• Perform other duties as assigned

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 21 years of age
• Must possess a valid Florida Class A or B CDL with passenger endorsement without air brake restriction
• Must have a minimum of 3 years driving history
• No DWI/DUI charges
• No more than 1 moving violation in the last 3 years
• No accidents or point violations within the last 3 years
• Minimum 3 years of automotive or truck repair experience, or equivalent automotive technical training
• Ability to pass a DOT physical, pre-employment drug screening, background check, and motor vehicle record review
• Authorization to work in the United States

Technical Skills & Experience

• Experience with vehicle diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, and repair
• Knowledge of automotive, truck, and heavy‑duty transit vehicle systems
• Ability to use hand tools, power tools, diagnostic equipment, and testing instruments
• AC609 Certification, or ability to obtain
• Must provide personal hand tools (MTM provides specialty, diagnostic, and heavy equipment)
• Basic computer proficiency for electronic work orders and maintenance records
