Job summary

McLane is seeking a Transportation Maintenance Supervisor to lead repairs and preventive maintenance across our fleet and facilities. You will manage budgets, coordinate technicians, and drive safety, efficiency and cost control while mentoring teammates.

Expect hands-on involvement in repairs, scheduling, vendor negotiations, and ensuring compliance with regulations; strong leadership and communication are essential.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree or equivalent professional training in heavy maintenance.
• 5+ years supervision experience in automotive/heavy-duty shop.
• Strong leadership: organization, accountability and decisiveness.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
• Willing to work flexible hours and shifts.
• Extensive knowledge of Medium/Heavy equipment and diesel repairs.
• Proficient with Windows, MS Office and maintenance systems.
• 5–7 years of diesel/heavy repairs experience; CDL preferred.
• Multiple certifications in relevant diesel/truck systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop budgets for repair, maintenance, supplies and inventory.
• Negotiate maintenance contracts and third-party support.
• Coordinate daily activities of Technicians; drive productivity and safety.
• Train and develop team on refrigeration, tractors and trailer maintenance.
• Maintain staffing, training and certifications requirements.
• Use Fleet Assistant to optimize asset utilization via preventive maintenance.
• Monitor expenses by function and equipment; manage parts inventory.
• Foster vendor/contractor relationships for quality and cost control.
• Work nights and weekends if required for supervision.
• Ensure safety processes meet federal/state/local regulations.
