Job summary

Santa Cruz METRO seeks a Fleet Maintenance Manager to plan, organize, and lead maintenance for revenue and non-revenue vehicles, equipment, and new technologies. You will oversee policies, budget, and contracts, while coordinating with internal teams and external partners.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 8 years in heavy-duty fleet maintenance
• Minimum 4 years supervisory or management experience, preferably in a union environment
• Knowledge of heavy-duty transit vehicle maintenance and asset management
• Familiarity with FTA requirements and grant-funded program compliance

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, direct, and evaluate fleet maintenance for METRO vehicles and related equipment
• Develop and manage preventive, scheduled, and corrective maintenance programs
• Monitor performance, conduct root-cause analyses, and implement improvements
• Direct personnel, training, and disciplinary actions within a union setting
• Ensure compliance with laws, safety rules, and grant requirements
