Job summary

Santa Cruz METRO is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Manager to plan, organize, and direct maintenance across buildings, yards, transit centers, and supporting infrastructure.

You will develop and manage preventive and corrective maintenance programs, lead supervisors, and coordinate with Operations, Fleet, and external vendors to ensure safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance. This role requires strong leadership and budget oversight within a public transit setting.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of public transportation maintenance operations and facilities management.
• Familiarity with safety, environmental, and grant requirements for transit facilities.
• Experience with asset-management, budgeting, and labor contracts.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes, directs, and evaluates facilities and infrastructure maintenance for safety and compliance.
• Develops and manages preventive, scheduled, and corrective maintenance programs.
• Directs and manages maintenance personnel, including supervision and training.
• Coordinates maintenance activities with internal and external stakeholders.
• Prepares budgets and cost estimates for labor, materials, contracts, and projects.
