Job summary

MTM, Inc. seeks a Manager, Fleet Maintenance to oversee a comprehensive maintenance program ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance for transit fleets. You will lead maintenance operations, vendor relations, and regulatory adherence while optimizing performance and costs.

You will develop preventive maintenance programs, analyze trends, and mentor maintenance staff to meet high standards. The role supports expansion and startup activities across markets.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• Minimum 5 years in automotive, fleet, diesel, or transportation maintenance.
• Minimum 1 year of leadership or supervisory experience.
• Experience managing preventative maintenance programs and schedules.
• Knowledge of vehicle inspection programs and maintenance reporting systems.
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily fleet maintenance operations and guide staff.
• Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs to maximize reliability.
• Plan and schedule workloads balancing operations, staffing, and budgets.
• Oversee inspections, maintenance, diagnostics, repairs, and servicing.
• Maintain vehicle tracking systems and records.
• Keep vehicle documentation current (registrations, inspections, maintenance).
• Track maintenance trends, costs, and performance metrics.
• Review DVIRs and correct deficiencies.
• Train drivers and maintenance staff on inspections and safety.
• Establish relationships with vendors and service providers for cost-effective solutions.
• Ensure OSHA/DOT/FTA/ADA and company standards compliance.
• Maintain a safe, clean maintenance facility environment.
• Identify operational risks and improve fleet performance.
• Support startup activities and fleet expansion for new opportunities.
