Job summary

Texas City Indep School Dist Transportation seeks an experienced Fleet Manager to lead on-site vehicle repair and maintenance across multiple locations. You will supervise lead master mechanics and helpers, prioritize work orders, and ensure timely repairs with safety as a priority.

Responsibilities include diagnostics, preventive maintenance, occasional bus driving, and maintaining accurate records. Must possess Texas CDL, safety certifications, and ASE certification where applicable.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Texas commercial driver’s license (A or B) with passenger and school bus endorsements; or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Texas School Bus Driver Safety Training Certificate or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Certified Texas State Vehicle Safety Inspector.
• ASE mechanic certification or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site maintenance for district vehicles at multiple locations.
• Evaluate repairs, assign work, and inspect quality.
• Establish preventive maintenance schedules.
• Perform major/minor repairs, diagnostics, and inspections.
• Maintain up-to-date maintenance records and safety compliance.
• Operate buses and drive routes when needed.
