Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to lead a maintenance shop responsible for preventive maintenance and repair of a diesel and alternative fuel fleet, containers, and heavy equipment. You will guide technicians, ensure compliance with safety standards, and optimize repair workflows at the Austin, TX site.

The role requires supervisory experience, ASE certifications, and strong knowledge of engine, transmission, and electrical systems.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in maintenance with heavy equipment.
• 1 year of supervisory or lead technician experience managing safe working practices and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction to technicians to ensure safe, efficient, timely repairs and maintenance.
• Monitor performance and align activities to improve efficiency and safety.
• Lead daily shop huddles, fleet walks, and performance evaluations; participate in hires/terminations.
• Oversee inspections, diagnose complex repairs, and road-test vehicles as needed.
• Manage inventory and budget for parts and services; approve expenses within scope.
