Job summary

Republic Services is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to lead a technician team in Denver, overseeing preventive maintenance, repairs, and safety-compliant work on heavy equipment and fleet vehicles. You will direct shop activities, monitor performance, and drive efficiency while ensuring adherence to federal and state regulations.

The role requires strong leadership, hands-on maintenance expertise, and the ability to manage training, payroll, inventory, and budgets.

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in maintenance with heavy equipment.
• 1 year of supervisory experience in a lead technician or management role with knowledge of safe practices and federal/state regulations.
• ASE certifications and related credentials are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction to technicians and lead activities to ensure safe, efficient maintenance.
• Conduct daily shop huddles and fleet walks; coach and evaluate technicians.
• Make hiring/termination decisions with Human Resources; perform trainings and evaluations.
• Inspect outside repairs for compliance with safety and regulations; ensure work is completed properly.
• Identify training opportunities and document corrective actions with technicians.
• Perform Quality Control inspections and road tests for complex repairs.
• Oversee inventory control and budget, approve expenses within scope, and manage repairs within budget.
• Maintain knowledge of engines, emission, hydraulics, electrical, HVAC, and welding to diagnose and repair heavy equipment.
• Handle payroll and records; use maintenance software to log preventive and corrective maintenance.
• Prepare department budget and set goals aligned with leadership.
