Job summary

Rumpke Waste & Recycling is seeking a Vehicle Preventive Maintenance Technician to perform routine maintenance on our fleet, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. The role includes inspecting vehicles, greasing and servicing systems, and assisting senior technicians with repairs.

Candidates should have 1–2 years of repair experience, familiarity with diesel vehicles, and basic tools. This on-site position requires reading English and traveling between facilities as needed.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years performing repair and maintenance on vehicles, equipment, and related components is preferred.
• Experience with diesel powered vehicles preferred.
• General knowledge of truck components and systems.
• Knowledge and understanding of Lock/Tag Out procedures or the ability to learn those procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance of fleet vehicles in a safe manner per schedules.
• Inspect, lubricate, and service all fleet vehicles per maintenance schedules.
• Grease, oil and lubricate components during preventive maintenance.
• Check, fill, and/or change fluids and filters.
• Inspect electrical, air, and brake systems.
• Assist senior technicians with repairs and maintenance.
• Maintain accurate records of time, maintenance orders, and parts usage.
