Job summary

J.B. Hunt Transport, Inc. in Cedar Rapids, IA is seeking a Manager Trainee to learn the management of a small driver count and non-traditional shifts, including nights and weekends. You will ensure safe and timely freight movement, load assignment, and exceptional customer service.

The program trains you to comply with DOT regulations and oversee drivers' compliance while coordinating with internal and external contacts to plan, route, monitor, and deliver freight and loads.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Transportation/Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field OR High School Diploma/GED with 1 year of management experience.
• Willing to travel to account, customer, and company event locations when applicable.
• Ability to work across multiple shifts including nights and/or weekends if needed.
• Willingness to regionally relocate depending on account assignment.

Responsibilities

• Learn to build and maintain relationships with drivers and carriers to ensure seamless new carrier setup.
• Fill in for absent personnel and work on projects to optimize fleet operations and profitability.
• Learn to train drivers and staff on internal and customer systems.
• Analyze and report KPI, improve fleet efficiency, and present customer reporting.
