Job summary

Shepeard Community Blood Center is seeking a Fleet/Facilities Assistant to ensure the smooth operation of mobile blood collection vehicles and fixed sites in Augusta, GA. You will manage vehicle maintenance, supply ordering, and facilities upkeep to meet regulatory standards.

The role requires 3–5 years in fleet/facilities management, DOT compliance knowledge, and a CDL. Excellent organization and communication skills are essential in a nonprofit healthcare setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years in fleet or facilities management, preferably in healthcare or nonprofit.
• Strong DOT compliance knowledge and building systems.
• Proficient with maintenance management software, Microsoft Office, procurement and fleet tracking tools.
• Must have valid CDL and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Oversee vehicle maintenance, inspections, and repair schedules for mobile and support fleet.
• Ensure DOT and local regulations are met and maintain records.
• Coordinate with mobile teams for scheduling and rotation of vehicles.
• Supervise building systems maintenance including HVAC, plumbing and electrical.
• Schedule janitorial, landscaping, and waste management; ensure site cleanliness.
• Train staff on vehicle and facility safety and emergency procedures.
• Respond to facility or vehicle issues after hours as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
