Job summary

Shepeard Community Blood Center is seeking a Fleet/Facilities Assistant to keep mobile blood collection vehicles and fixed sites operating smoothly, while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.

The role covers vehicle maintenance, facilities services, vendor coordination, and staff training, with after-hours support as needed. A CDL and healthcare/nonprofit experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of fleet and/or facility management experience, preferably in healthcare or nonprofit.
• CDL required and clean driving record.
• Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Experience with maintenance software, procurement, and fleet tracking tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance schedules and inspections for mobile blood collection vehicles and support fleet.
• Ensure DOT compliance and building systems meet safety and regulatory standards.
• Coordinate janitorial, landscaping, and waste management; ensure cleanliness of sites.
• Train staff on vehicle and facility safety procedures and emergency response.
• Assist with setups for blood drives and respond to after-hours issues as needed.
