Job summary

The Municipality of Anchorage is seeking an Equipment Serviceman in the Solid Waste Services department to help maintain fleet vehicles and equipment. This role supports safe, reliable operation through preventive maintenance, inspections, lubrication, servicing, and minor repairs.

Qualified applicants have a high school diploma or GED, at least 1 year of relevant experience, and an Alaska Class A CDL with tanker and Hazmat endorsements. Drug screening and background check are required.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year servicing and minor repairs on automotive/truck equipment.
• Alaska Class A CDL with tanker and Hazmat endorsements; no airbrake restrictions.
• Satisfactory drug screening and background check at hire.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safe, reliable operation of disposal fleet and equipment.
• Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, lubrication, servicing, and minor repairs.
• Change fluids, fuel vehicles, maintain tires, clean equipment, and assist mechanics.
• Prepare service records and perform related duties as assigned.
