Job summary

SpartanNash Military in Norfolk, VA is seeking an experienced Dispatch Coordinator to schedule driver routes, coordinate with customers and warehouse teams, and ensure accurate, timely deliveries. You will support transportation operations while upholding safety and DOT compliance.

Qualifications

• Two years of logistics/transportation experience required.
• Must have basic knowledge of dispatch operations.
• Good written and verbal communication skills and customer service.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be detail-oriented, organized and able to prioritize and multi-task.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel and Word) is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of DOT regulations and familiarity with transportation systems (Cadec experience preferred).

Responsibilities

• Dispatch driver schedules/routes for load pick-up and deliveries; coordinate with customers and warehouse operations to ensure timely, accurate operations and high service levels.
• Provide timely follow-up and resolution of route planning or delivery timing issues with Transportation Supervisors as needed.
• Maintain and update the dispatch/communication log or software per department procedures.
• Ensure drivers have up-to-date information on delivery requirements, locations, times and documentation.
• Review and process driver delivery paperwork; enforce safety and DOT compliance.
• Build strong working relationships with customers and drivers; assist with delivery changes and scheduling as needed.
