This job will be responsible for answering the fleet dispatch hotline and processing incoming Fleet Maintenance Requests. May be required to work a variety of shift schedules on a rotational basis and remain on-call 24 hours a day to maintain 24-hour, 7 day per week service.

  • Receive and process emergency and non-emergency calls; and monitor phone and fleet and fuel maintenance requests.
  • Assist fleet vehicle asset coordinators and fuel tank drivers in daily fleet activities
  • Complete accurate reports from all available sources, review fleet and fuel requests entered in the computer system for accuracy and complete any required follow-up actions.
  • Identify, analyze, troubleshoot, and submit tickets to report fleet and fuel requests.
  • Participate in periodic Fleet team meetings.
  • Complete accurate, timely, and comprehensive reports relative to fleet and fueling operations.
  • Complete notifications to appropriate team members, internal customers, and external vendors, etc.
  • Serve as the initial Fleet contact directing operators on the best course of action in emergency and non-emergency situations to ensure the safety of the operator and preservation of JEA assets.
  • Identify fleet and fueling operational weaknesses recommending corrective action and mitigations as appropriate.
  • Identify and communicate verbally or in writing any dispatch operational and procedural questions or concerns to the immediate supervisor.
  • Ensure the proper various reports are completed by Fleet personnel for emergency and non-emergency events.
  • Help drive fleet concepts and methodologies across the fleet team, contracted fleet force, and other employees.
  • Administer data input, reporting, and upkeep of records.
  • Manage multiple objectives and prioritizes projects in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Follow safety rules, encourage safe work practices, ensure that unsafe conditions and behaviors are corrected, and participate in safety programs.
  • Schedule and coordinate appointments with vendors for vehicle maintenance and upkeep.
  • Perform other job-related work as assigned.

Qualifications

OPEN REQUIREMENTS:

A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate degree in business administration or related field, or automotive/diesel technology certification is preferred.

AND

Two (2) years of related experience in dispatch, call center, or high-volume maintenance shop.
