Job summary

Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County is seeking a Dispatch/Logistics Technician to coordinate daily trash and recycling routes, respond to service requests, and provide technical system support for Waste Services operations in Nashville. The role requires coordinating with drivers and supervisors, monitoring fleet activity with GPS/telematics, and delivering timely data reports.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent plus six years of experience in dispatching, routing, or operational coordination.
• Additional education in supply chain management, field service coordination, logistics or transportation coordination may be considered in lieu of experience (1:1 Ratio).
• Candidates with accreditations earned in a foreign institute are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates daily Waste Collection routes using routing software to distribute daily assignments to drivers/vehicles.
• Communicates with drivers and operations personnel via phone, radio and software to resolve field issues.
• Monitors and reviews daily vehicle inspections and fleet progress using GPS/telematics and department software.
• Collects data and provides statistical and operational reports from various software tools.
• Receives and prioritizes service requests to dispatch appropriate personnel and equipment.
