Job summary

Proficient Auto Logistics is seeking a Shop Lead to oversee the repair and maintenance of our fleet. The role involves hands-on diagnostics, coordinating a team of mechanics, and ensuring safety and quality on every service with a focus on roadworthiness.

The position requires leadership, experience in diesel vehicle repair, and the ability to work the second shift from 11:00 am to 7:30 pm, Monday through Friday, in Bound Brook, NJ.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering required or equivalent experience.
• Bilingual Spanish/English is required.
• ASE Diesel Certification is a plus.
• CDL License is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate maintenance activities for fleet vehicles.
• Coordinate workflow and assign tasks to mechanics.
• Ensure safety regulations and company policies are followed.
• Conduct regular inspections and diagnostics on vehicles.
• Schedule trucks for service and handle after-hours calls.
• Provide guidance and work assignments to a team of mechanics.
• Perform repairs on trucks and preventive maintenance with detailed records.
• Maintain shop cleanliness and support after-hours operations.
• All other duties as required.
