Job summary

Clean Harbors is seeking a Second Shift Lead Diesel Mechanic to oversee daily shop operations, supervise maintenance work, and ensure DOT compliance for our fleet. The role emphasizes safety, documentation, and effective teamwork in a hands-on environment.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of diesel engine experience.
• 1+ years DOT inspection experience required.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
• Ability to work in team environment.
• Must be versed in electrical, computer, ECMs, fuel, air systems, ABS, hydraulic systems, engines, etc.
• Proficient in diagnostic, repair, and maintenance of heavy equipment (forklifts, trucks, tractors, tankers).
• Proficiency in tooling and equipment diagnostics, repair and maintenance.
• Background, drug, and physical test upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Health and Safety is the number one priority by adhering to safe work practices and policies.
• Performs preventative maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repairs; including offsite road calls.
• Completes daily checklist for proper operation of the unit.
• Ensures daily maintenance duties are performed and communicates issues promptly.
• Completes and submits all paperwork required for PM schedules.
• Conducts Safety Checks & Annual Vehicle Inspections per laws.
• Keeps equipment parked and maintained in compliance with DOT requirements.
• Ensures work meets Health and Safety SOPs.
• Maintains a clean work environment.
• Performs other assignments as directed by management.
• Understands Clean Compliance Standard.
