Job summary

Mesa County seeks a skilled fleet maintenance technician to service a diverse fleet of vehicles, heavy equipment, and specialized machinery. You will perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs, including installation of accessory equipment and occasional field work with a service truck.

Responsibilities cover engines, hydraulics, A/C, electrical systems, welding, and fabrication, using diagnostic tools and logging repair notes.

Qualifications

High school education or GED with one year vocational/technical training in heavy equipment and automotive repair and three years of related work experience.
Possession of Class A or B Colorado CDL - Tanker Endorsement (desired).
DOT Safety Inspector Certification or regulatory experience desirable.
ASE certifications (desired).

Responsibilities

Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on Mesa County’s fleet of vehicles, heavy equipment, and machinery.
Diagnostics and repairs of engines, powertrain, hydraulic systems, A/C, electrical and electronic systems.
Operate diagnostic tools, read technical manuals, and log data into electronic work orders.
Welding and fabrication as required; repair shop and field service tasks.
May lead other workers in absence of supervision and perform field work with a service truck.
