King Arthur Baking Company in Norwich, VT seeks a General Manager to lead the flagship Bakery, Cafe, Retail Store, and Baking School. This role combines strong business acumen with people leadership to drive sales, profitability, and an exceptional customer experience.

With full P&L responsibility, you will build a top leadership team, set priorities with cross-functional partners, and continuously improve the flagship experience for guests and the local community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, hospitality, food service management or related field preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive leadership in a high-volume bakery, cafe, restaurant or flagship retail.
• Proven P&L ownership, budgeting, forecasting and margin management experience.
• Strong communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills.
• Passion for artisanal baking and King Arthur’s mission.

Responsibilities

• Lead the flagship destination (Bakery, Cafe, Retail Store, Baking School) as one integrated unit.
• Deliver exceptional guest experience through hospitality, service, and programming.
• Develop and retain a high-performing leadership team with clear growth paths.
• Own P&L and meet revenue, margin, labor, and profitability goals.
• Ensure food safety, inventory control, and high operational standards.
• Lead cross-functional partnerships with marketing, finance, and operations.
• Build strong community relations and drive store traffic and engagement.
