Job summary

Manitou Group is seeking a skilled Fixture Design Technician for its Madison, SD site. The role focuses on building fixtures for fabrication, welding, painting, and assembly, plus reading blueprints and CAD drawings to guide production.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience, with GibbsCAM and CNC equipment familiarity, hydraulic/pneumatic knowledge, and the ability to lift ~50 pounds. A 2-year related degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• 5+ years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with fabrication and welding processes.
• Familiarity with GibbsCAM and CNC operated equipment.

Responsibilities

• Build jigs and fixtures for fabrication, weld, paint and assembly processes.
• Read and interpret blueprints, design schematics and CAD drawings.
• Identify and measure metal stock for machining.
• Set up machine tools such as drills, lathes, grinders and milling machines.
• Fit and assemble fixture, tool and die parts.
• Validate completed fixtures, tools and dies.
• Troubleshoot issues and repair existing jigs and fixtures.
• Provide training to production personnel on fixture operation as required.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineering to ensure quality and product flow.
• Involved in product development via prototypes and ideas.
