Getman Corporation in Bangor, MI is seeking a Tooling Design Technician to assist in tooling and fixturing development, support improved equipment and procedures, and create CNC programs for various equipment.

The role involves managing tooling inventory, designing custom tools/fixtures, supporting CAD/CAM for CNC programs (Mastercam and others), and collaborating with engineering during development to improve manufacturing processes and tooling life.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two to five years related experience and/or training in manufacturing with CAD/CAM tooling.
• Understanding of welding and machining processes and CAD/CAM software.
• Knowledge of SolidWorks.

Responsabilités

• Manage Getman tooling/fixture inventory; identify changes, repairs, consolidation, or obsolescence; create CAD drawings; source materials; manage manufacturing of tools on the shop floor.
• Create designs for custom tools/fixtures (weld fixtures, mill fixtures, assembly tools) ensuring tolerances/specifications.
• Support the engineering change process with tooling updates and routing changes.
• Examine specs/blueprints/tool orders and resolve design problems with manufacturing considerations.
• Collaborate with engineering to provide feedback and recommendations on processes and tooling.
