Manitou Group is seeking a skilled Fixture Design Technician for its Madison, SD site. The role focuses on building fixtures for fabrication, welding, painting, and assembly, plus reading blueprints and CAD drawings to guide production.
The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience, with GibbsCAM and CNC equipment familiarity, hydraulic/pneumatic knowledge, and the ability to lift ~50 pounds. A 2-year related degree is preferred.

Working closely with our Manufacturing Engineering team, this position is responsible for building tools and fixtures for new products as well as maintaining and adapting current structures for existing products. This position requires a high level of creativity, teamwork, and strong communication skills. This position reports to the Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor.
Build jigs and fixtures for fabrication, weld, paint and assembly processes.
Reading and interpreting blueprints, design schematics and CAD drawings.
Identification and measurement of metal stock for machining.
Setting up machine tools such as drills, lathes, grinders and milling machines.
Fitting and assembling fixture, tool and die parts.
Validating completed fixtures, tools and dies.
Troubleshoot issues and/or repair existing jigs and fixtures.
Provide training to production personnel on fixture operation as required.
Collaborate with manufacturing engineering to ensure quality and product flow.
Involved in product development via the creation of prototypes and concept ideas as assigned.
5-years relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Familiarity with GibbsCAM and CNC operated equipment.
Hydraulic/ pneumatic knowledge.
Self-motivated and works independently.
Team mentality with ability to collaborate.
Ability to accurately use measuring tools.
Understanding of material and other manual shop equipment used in fixture design.
Must have a working knowledge of fabrication and welding processes.
Must have the ability to lift approximately 50 pounds periodically.
2 year degree preferred in a related field
