Job summary

Nextera Search in New York City seeks an experienced Fixed Income Operations Manager to lead end-to-end processing of fixed income transactions, from initial booking through settlement and ongoing servicing.

You will supervise trade allocations, confirmations, reconciliations, and security lifecycle events, monitor daily activity, and partner with technology and other teams to strengthen controls, improve efficiency, and reduce manual processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field.
• 8–10+ years in financial operations with leadership responsibilities.
• Experience with fixed income products and settlement processes.
• Strong knowledge of risk controls, reconciliations, and exception management.
• Advanced Excel skills including PivotTables and macros.
• Familiarity with Tableau, Python, SQL a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee fixed income transaction processing from booking to settlement and servicing.
• Lead trade allocations, confirmations, reconciliations, and security lifecycle events.
• Monitor daily activity, resolve trade discrepancies and settlement exceptions.
• Coordinate with investment, client service, finance, and operations teams.
• Maintain relationships with brokers, custodians, and external providers.
• Prepare operational reporting and performance metrics.
• Support implementation of new products and processes.
• Identify workflow improvements to strengthen controls and reduce manual steps.
• Partner with technology teams to document business requirements.
• Provide guidance to junior team members and ensure accuracy and timely execution.
