Job summary

Nextera Search in New York City seeks an experienced Fixed Income Operations Manager to lead end-to-end processing of fixed income transactions, from initial booking through settlement and ongoing servicing.

You will supervise trade allocations, confirmations, reconciliations, and security lifecycle events, monitor daily activity, and partner with technology and other teams to strengthen controls, improve efficiency, and reduce manual processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field.
• 8–10+ years in financial operations with leadership responsibilities.
• Experience with fixed income products and settlement processes.
• Strong knowledge of risk controls, reconciliations, and exception management.
• Advanced Excel skills including PivotTables and macros.
• Familiarity with Tableau, Python, SQL a plus.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the processing of fixed income transactions from initial booking through settlement and ongoing servicing
• Manage trade allocations, confirmations, reconciliations, inventory records, and security lifecycle events
• Monitor daily activity and ensure operational issues, trade discrepancies, and settlement exceptions are resolved promptly
• Coordinate with investment, client service, finance, and operations teams to support transaction activity and reporting needs
• Maintain productive relationships with brokers, custodians, counterparties, and other external service providers
• Prepare operational reporting and metrics for internal stakeholders
• Support the implementation of new products, processes, and business initiatives
• Evaluate existing workflows and identify opportunities to strengthen controls, improve efficiency, and reduce manual processes
• Partner with technology teams to document business requirements and enhance internal systems
• Provide guidance and oversight to junior team members while promoting accuracy, accountability, and timely execution

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field
• 8-10+ years of financial operations experience, including leadership or team-management responsibilities
• Experience supporting fixed income products, such as government securities, corporate bonds, or interest-rate products
• Strong understanding of transaction processing, settlement, reconciliations, and security lifecycle events
• Demonstrated knowledge of operational risk, controls, and exception management
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, PivotTables, and macros
• Experience with Tableau, Python, SQL, or other data and automation tools is a plus
