Job summary

Mission Staffing in New York is seeking a skilled Middle Office professional to manage bank debt workflows, settlements, and complex restructurings for a buy-side asset management team.

You will coordinate trade settlements, liaise with trustees and agent banks to resolve discrepancies, monitor corporate actions, and oversee cash and position reconciliation across fixed income and equity products; collaborate with investment teams and external partners.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of recent experience on a buy-side Middle Office team within asset management.
• Understanding of post-execution, confirmation, settlement, and fail resolution across fixed income and equity products.
• Familiarity with Omgeo's suite of post-execution applications.
• Knowledge of derivative products such as futures, OTC, and FOREX.
• Corporate action processing experience is a plus.
• Comfort working directly with clients, investment teams, and other senior stakeholders.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to multitask and problem-solve.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
• Experience with WSO, Clearpar, Bloomberg AIM, Tradeflow, Omgeo, and Margin Manager is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Understand and manage bank debt concepts and workflows, including rate resets, principal repayments, draws, and margin changes.
• Coordinate trade settlement of loan closings with external parties (par and distressed, LSTA and LMA).
• Liaise with trustees and agent banks to resolve discrepancies.
• Oversee complex restructures, including defaults, refinancings, and extensions.
• Monitor and process corporate actions, ensuring accurate cash and position reflections.
• Support cash, position, and trade reconciliation, and help manage complex issues.
• Oversee cash balances on behalf of portfolio managers.
• Support pre-settlement trade lifecycle events across fixed income products.
• Analyze, document, and improve current processes and controls.
• Serve as escalation point for the middle office, working with banks, brokers, and internal groups to resolve issues.
