Nextera Search is seeking an experienced Operations Associate for a New York City-based financial services firm in cash equities. You will support post-trade activity from entry to final settlement and collaborate with traders and operations teams to ensure smooth processing.

The role emphasizes daily reconciliations, exception handling, and driving process improvements to enhance data quality and reporting while complying with internal policies and industry requirements.

Qualifications

• 3-8 years of experience in investment operations, trade support, transaction processing, or a related financial-services function
• Understanding of transaction lifecycles and post-trade processes
• Experience with trade processing, reconciliations, settlements, and exception resolution
• Familiarity with financial-market participants and third-party service providers

Responsibilities

• Support post-trade activity from transaction entry through final settlement
• Review transaction details and resolve processing, booking, allocation, and settlement discrepancies
• Perform daily reconciliations of trades, positions, and cash across internal and external records
• Coordinate with internal teams and third-party service providers to facilitate accurate and timely transaction processing
• Monitor pending activity and address failed, delayed, or partially completed transactions
• Assist with security-related events that affect open positions or cash activity
• Identify and elevate operational issues that may affect investment activity or reporting
• Maintain accurate records and reporting for transaction activity, exceptions, and outstanding items
• Partner with business and technology teams to strengthen workflows, controls, and data quality
• Support new products, counterparties, and operational initiatives as needed
• Identify opportunities to reduce manual processes and improve scalability
• Ensure adherence to internal policies, established procedures, and applicable industry requirements
